On Saturday, our U12s travelled to Brighton for their first tournament of the season hosted by Magic Netball Club. A special tournament for this team for whom this was their first ever tournament as a team having missed 2 summers during the pandemic.

The squad of Ava Bartlett, Amber Bonnett-Powell, Sienna Goodfellow, Zara Ferns, Marni Cinnamond, Eden Milne and Emma Beeby had a big day ahead with only 7 players (and Thea Kennedy, injured but supporting her team) and no subs.

They got off to a great start against SNTA Blue winning 10-5. They followed this up with an 11-0 win v Eastbourne, 12-4 win v SNTA Yellow and a 16-3 win v Stars. They finished the group with a 14-1 win v Magic, topping the league and headed into a three-way play off for the gold medal.

First up they faced SNTA Yellow again, this time taking the win 12-2. One game left to win the tournament and the Turnford team were up to the challenge winning 11-2 and taking the tournament undefeated. 87 goals scored and only 17 conceded.

An exhausted 7 players were delighted to win the first tournament of the season against some unfamiliar opposition and headed off to Brighton beach for a recovery swim and fish and chips on the pier.
